My son’s violin-playing has come on leaps and bounds since he has been having lessons with River! River is a very enthusiastic teacher and he is very thorough in his instruction of technique. My son has significantly improved his technique and toning thanks to River. It is lovely to see my son progressing. It is difficult not to be enthused by River as he is so passionate about violin playing -and music in general! I can tell that my son has been enthused by River and he really enjoys his lessons. He can see for himself that he has improved over the months, which is highly motivating for him.

River has been providing one-to-one online maths tuition for my daughter for a year now. Having missed quite a bit of time at school due to illness, she had consequently lost not only her confidence but also her love of the subject. River has given her back both of these and thrown in a good deal more to boot. In fact, he has done such a fantastic job, that we no longer need to continue with the sessions. Her maths grades at school have increased from a 6 to a 9 over the last 12 months, and she is now going on to study math and further maths at A-level. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending River to anyone.

My daughter has loved her violin lessons with Mr. Edis-Smith. She has made wonderful progress thanks to his friendly and engaging manner and his clear talent and passion for music. He was a welcome smiling face throughout home learning and we can't thank him enough for keeping up her morale during this time. We are so sorry to see him go but we wish him every success for the future.
